Team met at Liberty Station with SDCOE and other districts.

Together we looked at CSTPs in rubric form for evaluations including:
  • our LGSD rubric
  • Newarl's Rubric
  • The BTSA CSTP Rubric
  • Fallbrook's Rubric
We looked at and discussed the end result aiming at a growth model for teacher development:
  • one scheduled observation (*maybe not needed? has benefits but might not be a stumbling block)
  • several (no amount decided) informal visits 5-20 minutes long
  • changing the verbage on the rubric (developing, emerging, effective, etc.)
  • Making only the "Unsatisfactory or Ineffective" level mean improvement plan or different path
We are unsure and feel concerns about how to communicate with our larger constituency due to legal limits--we are not a decision making body. How do we move forward into writing rubrics, considering changes to the MOU or contract, sharing with others? Are we permitted to share with others until a decision has been negotiated?

We met at the district to prepare a presentation for school administrators and LGTA and Rep Council.  The presentation will include:

  • Background as to why this work is being done
  • Our Vision 
  • Our Guiding Principles
  • A brief timeline of our Work
  • The end result we are aiming towards
  • A discussion of language that would be used in Evaluation
  • A discussion of rubric structures
  • Sharing of results from our teacher survey
  • Input from Stakeholders

Start of Year Two- 2015-16

The Committee met on August 26th at Liberty Station Conference Center. Together we:


  • Examined the REEd/UC Davis Essential Practices Framework (and observation protocol)
  • Identified common agreements about our current system
  • Identified key elements and tasks for our work in 2015-16
  • Began to determine intersession agendas and outcomes
  • Discussed the creation of  a Communication Plan for 2015-16 so that all stakeholders would learn of the work that we are doing
